Safe Trails, Serious Fun
Keeping Utah’s Children Safe
The Intermountain West has the fourth-highest traumatic brain injury hospitalization rate in the country for children ages five to 14. Almost seven percent of those injuries involve motor vehicles, including ATVs. Plus, a child’s risk of being hospitalized from riding an off-highway vehicle is a thousand times greater than riding in a car. Primary Children’s Hospital teamed with Penna Powers to develop the “Safe Trails, Serious Fun” campaign to educate parents and children on ATV safety guidelines.
Water: Danger At Any Depth
Over 750,000 Utahns Learn the Danger of Drowning
Drowning is the second leading cause of death for children in Utah. The “Water, Danger at Any Depth,” campaign was designed to remind parents or caregivers to always be aware of potential drowning accidents. For this campaign, Penna Powers created commercials, radio spots, online banner ads and information cards to show how easy it can be to become distracted while children are in the water.
Think Safety
Keeping Safety on the Mind
With 201 active construction zones on Utah’s roads in Summer 2011, UDOT proactively planned ongoing outreach to ensure the safety of work crews and Utah families throughout the construction season. To accomplish this goal, UDOT implemented its “Think Safety” program to reach out to elementary school-age children to drive home the message.
